How does a luggage scale work?
A digital luggage scale is easy to use and requires no preparation. Here's how:
1. Attach the hook
Hook the luggage scale to the luggage strap or around the handle of your suitcase or bag.
2. Lift and hold still
Lift the suitcase vertically off the floor and hold it still for 2–3 seconds for the scale to register a stable measurement.
3. Read the display
The digital display shows the weight immediately — accurate to 100 grams. Most airlines allow up to 23 kg per suitcase in economy, so you can immediately see if you are within the limit.
4. Adjust if necessary
Too heavy? Transfer a few items to your hand luggage or another suitcase — and weigh again. It only takes a few seconds.
Why not just use a bathroom scale?
A bathroom scale is inaccurate for suitcases — you have to stand on it with the suitcase, subtract your own weight, and make a guess.
A luggage scale measures directly and gives you a precise number without mental math or uncertainty.
